Responding to Requests for Assistance
A student who needs help during a class can click the Assist Me icon on the right side of their CloudShare Viewer. A bell indicator will then appear next to the student's name in the Students list.
You can click the to turn off the request marker.
In addition, whenever a request is made, the Assist Me Requests icon at the top of the Instructor Console will turn blue. The number of open requests appears next to it. You can click the icon to see a drop-down list with the details of all help requests:
When a class has more than one instructor, the drop-down list will show Assist Me Requests details for all instructors, together with their handling status.
Chatting with Students
A participant can message an instructor directly, by clicking the Instructor Chat icon on the right side of their CloudShare Viewer. A message indicator will then appear next to the participant's name in the Students list.
To see the message and chat with the participant, click the message icon next to that student's name. A dialog will appear for your chat.
When a class has more than one instructor, the student chat can be seen by all instructors.
To initiate or join a chat with the entire class, click the Class Chat tab. The tab heading also indicates the number of unread messages currently in the chat.
Class chats can be seen by all members of the class.
Zooming In On a Student's Work
To view a participant's work closely, click at the top right of his thumbnail and select Zoom In. This opens the VM which they are currently working on in a separate browser tab.
You will also see an option to Open Environment. This opens the environment details and lets you monitor and manage the environment's state, resource usage, and other settings.
Assisting with Take Over
To actively assist a participant in their environment, from the Zoom In menu of the thumbnail, select Take Over:
Select the specific VM that you wish to view and control and click Enable Input to interact with the VM.
