When preparing and running a session, an instructor can create their own dedicated environment, directly from the Instructor Console.
Instructors can view their environment, connect to a VM in the experience, and also share a selected VM with participants for demonstrations.
When a session has more than one instructor, each instructor can view, connect to, and share other instructor environments as well.
All instructor environments are listed in the Instructor Environments panel.
Each instructor can create their own environment for a session, unless this capability was disabled for them when they were added to the experience.
An instructor can also see whether other instructors have created environments for the session.
Viewing the Instructor Environment
An instructor can simply click View to see their own environment as it would appear to a student in their CloudShare Viewer.
Connecting to a VM in the Instructor Environment
An instructor can connect directly to one of their VMs by clicking on the eye icon and then choosing the connection method. The available connection methods will vary, depending on the selected VM type.
Sharing a VM
You can instantly broadcast a VM with all users or to a specific participant, making it easy to demonstrate components or operations in real time.
Note: Only a single Instructor can share their environment at a time during a session.
To share an environment:
- Connect to the VM you want to broadcast, as described above.
- After the connection is successful, from the VM's drop-down menu, select Share with Students.
- In the share dialog options, choose whether the VM will be broadcast to All Students or a Specific Student (a drop-down list will be displayed listing all available students). Then click Start Sharing.
- When the broadcast starts, the student(s) you have selected will need to confirm the share in order to see the VM. The shared VM will be opened in a new browser tab.
To stop sharing a VM, from the VM drop-down menu, select Stop Sharing Machine.
