You can extend an environment based on the terms of its assigned environment policy.
Extending a Policy
If you need more policy time for your environment, you can extend the environment. This capability enables you to easily manage resource consumption. You can extend your environment for a length of runtime and storage time that is less than or equal to the length of the policy associated with your environment or experience.
In the Environment Details page, click Extend Environment at the top right of the screen. You can also click Extend Environment from the list of buttons on the right side of the screen.
The Extend Environment window appears. By default, Runtime Lease and Storage Lease will be pre-populated with the selected policy’s Runtime and Storage Lease values. Note that the runtime cannot be longer than the storage time.
Once you have entered the requested lease times, click Extend. You can repeat this action as many times as needed.
Changing a Policy
A policy is a set of rules that define the behavior and management of environments, including resource allocation and access permissions. Policies help you control various aspects of environment management. Changing a policy enables assigning a different environment policy to the environment.
To effectively change one or more policy values for an existing environment, first create a new policy with the desired values. Then, from the Environment Details page, click Change Policy to assign the newly-created policy to that environment.
A Project Manager can edit an existing policy; however, the policy cannot currently be assigned to an active environment.
If the policy is assigned to an environment, you can only change the value of the Inactivity Handling field. If the assigned environment is currently running, this change will be applied so that it will only extend the current inactivity time (i.e., not shorten it). Any new environment or new instance will reflect the new Inactivity Handling time value specified in the change.
