The Environment Details page provides the following action buttons.
Suspend/Resume Button
Clicking this button suspends or resumes the environment based on its current state.
The button label changes based on the current environment state, indicating whether it is suspended.
- When the environment is running, the button shows Suspend.
- When the environment is suspended, the button shows Resume.
Suspending an environment helps conserve resources and prevent unnecessary runtime usage when the environment is not actively in use, while keeping it available for later use.
Note: An environment may also be automatically suspended by its policy.
Snapshot Button
Clicking the Snapshot button opens a drawer in which a snapshot of the environment can be taken.
Taking a snapshot saves the environment in its current state, including its virtual machines, network configuration, users, installed software, documents, and settings. It can also save the current RAM and disk state, so running services and applications can be preserved in the snapshot.
The snapshot can be saved to the environment’s current blueprint, to a blueprint in the user's projects, or published to a new blueprint. It can also be set as the default snapshot used when new environments are created from the blueprint.
Note: Any changes made to the environment after clicking the Snapshot button are not included in the snapshot currently being created.
See Taking a Snapshot for more information.
Editor Button
The Editor button opens the CloudShare Editor in a separate browser tab, which is the admin tool used to configure the experience that participants access through the Participants Viewer (also called the Viewer). The Editor enables customizing what participants see and use in the Viewer, including tabs, VM settings, content items, appearance, branding, login settings, and collaboration tools.
Note: If the experience is already in progress, changes made in the Editor may affect participants immediately.
See Customizing the Viewer – The Editor for more information.
Viewer Button
Clicking the Viewer button opens the Participant Viewer of the environment as it appears to participants. The Participant Viewer is the web interface where participants access and work with the environment, including its virtual machines, content panes, side menu options, collaboration tools, and runtime information.
See Environment Viewer and Customizing the Viewer for more information.
