Description
Now it is time to take a snapshot, which CloudShare will use to spin up a separate designated environment for each participant that accesses the Participants Viewer.
A snapshot is a complete copy of the environment in its current state, including the virtual machines, configuration, applications, and data at the exact moment it was taken. Consider it like a final save button that locks everything in.
CloudShare saves each snapshot inside a blueprint. A blueprint is a container that holds one or more snapshots of the same environment and acts as the saved version of that environment. When CloudShare needs to create live environments, it uses the selected snapshot in the blueprint as the source image and spins up new environments on demand. The environment can be replicated 10, 20, 50, or 100,000 times, one identical copy for each participant.
Quick Start Steps
To create a snapshot:
- From the CloudShare home screen, click the Infrastructure button in the top left corner.
- Click the Environments List tab from the left menu and select the environment for which you want to capture a snapshot, as shown below. Note that the environment must be active.
- Click the Snapshot button at the top right, as shown below:
