Use Solis to perform AI-assisted actions, as described in this section.
Use the CloudShare legacy user interface to perform a manual flow when you prefer to select each setting yourself.
Note: After Solis creates an entity in CloudShare, such as a new environment, it is managed in CloudShare like any other entity of that type.
The following describes a scenario for using the Solis Virtual AI agent, which may vary slightly according to the context in which it is used in CloudShare.
Opening the Solis Pane
Open the Solis button from the top bar or from a Create with Solis
button. The following is displayed:
See Accessing the Solis Pane for more details.
Selecting a Project
The scope of everything in a Solis chat is determined by the selected project.
For example, each CloudShare project contains its own blueprints. Solis uses the selected project to determine which blueprints and values are available for the environment that users want to create.
Entering / Selecting a Request
Prompt Suggestions
When users open Solis, it may display prompt suggestions to help you get started.
When Solis opens, it may display prompt suggestions to help you get started. Solis uses the current page, feature, and selected context to understand which actions and values are relevant.
Typically, Solis may display up to four suggestions. Some suggestions may be based on usage within the selected project. Some suggestions may be generic quick start actions.
Some suggestions may include labels such as Most Used or Recently Used. These labels are based on usage within the selected project by the currently logged-in user and other users of this project.
To use a prompt suggestion:
1 Hover over the suggestion to view more information.
2 Click the suggestion.
3 Edit the text if needed.
4 Click the Send button to send the prompt to Solis for execution or press the Enter key.
The suggestion is added to the chat input before it is submitted.
Typing in a Request
Type a request into the text box (named How can I help you?) in your own words. Specify as many details as possible.
For example, describe the environment you want to create, and specify the blueprint, region, policy owner, environment name, and number of environments.
Solis analyzes your request and generates a plan for creating an environment.
For example, Solis generates an environment creation plan before creating the environment.
Reviewing the Environment Creation Plan
Solis does not immediately create the environment. First, it generates a plan.
-
Review the results and make changes if needed.
The plan shows the values that will be used to create the environment. For example, the plan may include the Project, Region, Blueprint, Owner, Team, Policy and Environment Name. If the selected blueprint contains virtual machines or external resources, you can click on it in the prompt to expand the blueprint details to review them. -
Some values come from your request. Other values may be selected automatically by Solis.
For example, if you do not specify an owner, Solis may select you as the owner. If you do not specify an environment name, Solis may generate a name based on the blueprint name. If the generated name already exists, Solis may add a version number to keep the environment name unique.
Note: Review the plan carefully before creating the environment. Solis is AI and can make mistakes.
For example, Solis generates an environment creation plan before creating the environment. For example, Solis uses the selected project to understand which predefined blueprints and values are available. It then prepares an environment creation plan for review, as shown below:
Note: If your request is not exact, Solis uses fuzzy matching to identify possible matches. If there is more than one possible match, Solis does not choose for you. For example, if you ask Solis for a list of blueprints, it displays the available options and asks you to select the correct blueprint. If the list contains more options, a Show More button is displayed, as shown below:
Changing the Plan
You can change the generated plan before the environment is created.
Review the plan and make changes if needed. For example, change the policy, blueprint, region, owner, or environment name.
Each time you make a change, Solis generates an updated plan. Review the updated plan before creating the environment.
To change the plan:
1 Click the Make Changes button, as shown above.
2 Modify the prompt in the input box to describe what you want to change in your own words. For example, in the following screen, when the user entered make changes to the policy, Solis responded by asking which policy to use and listing the policies available in the selected project.
3. If Solis asks for more information, select or enter the required value.
4. Review the updated plan.
5. Click the Create Environment button (as described in the next section) or review the plan and make additional changes.
Executing the Plan
After you review the plan, click the action execution button. For example, click the Create Environment button to create the environment, as shown below:
Solis executes the action and displays a relevant link in the chat. For example, when you click the Create Environment button, Solis creates the environment and displays a link to that new environment in the chat , as shown below:
To open the environment that was created, click the environment link in the Solis chat. The Environment Details page opens. The Solis chat remains available.
You can open the environment from the Solis chat and continue working in CloudShare. For example, as shown below:
When to Start a New Chat
Creating an environment does not automatically start a new chat session.
It is recommended to start a new chat when beginning an unrelated environment creation request by clicking the New Chat button at the top right of the Solis pane. Closing the Solis pane does not start a new chat. If you close and reopen the pane, the current chat remains available.
Using Solis for Bulk Actions
You can use Solis to perform bulk actions, such as creating multiple environments at once.
For example, after creating an environment, you can ask Solis to create two more environments based on the same configuration, as shown below:
Solis creates the additional environments and displays a separate link for each environment in the chat.
If the additional environments use the same name, Solis may add version numbers to keep the names unique. For example, as shown below:
