A Competitive Experience has more than one blueprint — a Red Squad blueprint, a Blue Squad blueprint, and the Shared Environment blueprint — and the Editor lets you switch between them and configure each independently.
Switching Between Blueprints
An Editing: [Blueprint Name] dropdown appears under the experience name at the top of the Editor. It lists every blueprint in the experience — Red Squad Blueprint, Blue Squad Blueprint, and Shared Blueprint — each shown with its squad badge. Selecting one loads that blueprint's configuration into the canvas
Note: Each blueprint keeps its own VM tabs, content tabs, and configuration — changes you make to one blueprint don't affect the others.
Squad Color Indicator in the Header
The Editor's top navigation bar changes color depending on which blueprint is active, so you always know which squad's configuration you're editing:
- Red Squad BP active — nav bar tinted red.
- Blue Squad BP active — nav bar tinted blue.
- Shared Environment BP active — nav bar stays the default neutral color.
Note: The color updates immediately on switching blueprints — no page reload needed.Saving Changes
The Save control is a split button:
- Clicking Save Changes (the main button) saves changes to the blueprint you're currently editing only — this is the default, and matches how Save works outside of Competitive Experiences.
- Clicking the chevron (▾) next to it opens a single additional option, Save changes to all blueprints, which saves your changes across every blueprint in the experience at once.
If you switch blueprints while you have unsaved changes, a warning appears: "You have unsaved changes in [Blueprint Name]. Save before switching?" — with options to save, discard, or cancel.
Squad Names and Colors
Squad names (Red Squad & Blue Squad) and their colors are fixed for this release and can't be renamed or recolored from the Editor.
Chat Scope for Squad Blueprints
While under the Settings tab, the Chat settings panel includes two options:
- Squad Only (default) — participants can only chat with members of their own squad.
- Entire Experience — participants can chat with everyone in the experience, regardless of squad.
Note: Selecting any of the options for one squad automatically applies the same setting to the other squad.Note: This setting isn't available when editing the Shared Environment blueprint. Squad Roster Toggle
A Squad Roster section appears in the Settings sidebar with a single Show Members toggle (default OFF):
- ON — participants can see the squad Members list in the Participant Viewer's Group Chat panel.
- OFF — the Members dropdown is hidden from the Participant Viewer entirely.
Note: This setting also isn't available when editing the Shared Environment blueprint. Restrictions When Editing the Shared Environment Blueprint
When the Shared Environment blueprint is the active blueprint:
- The Appearance tab in the header isn't available.
- In the Settings tab, the only available option is changing the Landing State. Collaboration Tools and Squad Roster aren't relevant for the Shared Environment.
