When you open the Instructor Console for a Competitive Experience, you'll see additional tools for monitoring and interacting with each squad.
Filtering the Console by Squad
Below the console toolbar, a tab row lets you switch between All, Red Squad, and Blue Squad:
- All shows every participant in the usual flat grid, with no squad grouping.
- Red Squad / Blue Squad switches to a view showing only that squad's participants.
Each squad tab shows a live count badge that updates as participants join, drop, or are suspended.
Squad Indicators on Participant Thumbnails
Every participant thumbnail shows a colored squad badge and a squad color divider, regardless of which tab (All, Red Squad, or Blue Squad) is active — so you can identify squad membership at a glance even in the All view.
Grouping and Filtering the User List
In the Users panel, the Group by dropdown includes a Squads option (alongside Environment, Status, and User Status), which groups participants by squad. Each participant row also shows a small squad badge next to their name. Instructor rows never show a squad badge.
Squad-Scoped Chat
Under Group Chats, the chips shown depend on the chat mode configured for the experience within the Editor:
- “Entire Experience” mode: available chips are All Squads, Red Squad, and Blue Squad (default: All Squads). Selecting a squad chip shows a colored disclaimer noting that only that squad can see the messages. In this mode, messages sent to All Squads show a small squad badge next to the sender's name.
- “Squad Only” mode: available chips are only Red Squad and Blue Squad.
Selecting a chip filters the message thread to that squad's scope, and any message you send is scoped to the selected chip's audience.
Creating Instructor Environments per Squad
Clicking Environments > Personal tab now presents two options for personal environment creation — Red Squad Environment and Blue Squad Environment — each provisioning an environment from that squad's dedicated blueprint. You can hold environments for both squads at the same time to monitor and assist either side.
Note: This doesn't assign you to a squad; instructors remain unassigned.Squad Context in the Shared Environment
When choosing a Controlling User for the Shared Environment, the dropdown only lists active participants from the squad that currently has Shared Environment view access, plus all instructors.
Squad Indicators When Viewing a Participant
When you zoom in on a participant, their squad name appears as a second line under their name in the tab strip, and a read-only Squad field appears in the Info panel — between Participant Status and Country — shown as a colored badge.
