If you're participating in a Competitive Experience, your CloudShare Viewer includes a few additions that show your squad identity and let you interact with your squad.
Your Squad Identity
A colored badge showing your squad name (Red Squad or Blue Squad) appears under the environment name and stays visible for the entire session — it can't be dismissed.
Group Chat
The tabs available in Group Chat depend on how the instructor configured chat for the experience within the Editor:
- “Squad Only” mode: you'll see My Squad and Instructors tabs. My Squad lets you chat only with members of your own squad.
- “Entire Experience” mode: you'll also see an All Squads tab, letting you message everyone in the experience regardless of squad. In All Squads, each participant's message shows a small badge indicating their squad (instructors show a green indicator).
Viewing Squad Roster in Chat
Below the squad tabs in the Group Chat panel, a Members dropdown shows a live participant count and expands into a list:
- All Squads tab: the counter shows the total number of participants in the experience. Opening the dropdown lists everyone, divided into sections by squad — each section has a colored squad header showing the squad name and its member count (e.g., "Red Squad — 7 Members"), with a status indicator next to each participant's name.
- My Squad tab: the counter shows only the number of members in your own squad. Opening the dropdown lists only those members, with no squad divider.
Note: The Members dropdown only appears if the instructor has turned on Show participants in the Editor's Squad Roster settings. If that setting is off, the dropdown is hidden from the Group Chat panel entirely.Resource Isolation
You'll only ever see the VMs and resources that belong to your own squad. The only way to interact with the other squad is through the Shared Environment — there's no direct access to the other squad's VMs.
