The top section of the Instructor Console provides instructors with key analytics at a glance, offering up-to-date metrics on participation, engagement, and performance across all participants. This helps experienced managers stay informed about the most important experience metrics.
These metrics update dynamically as the experience progresses, ensuring instructors always see the latest information. Each metric is also interactive, allowing instructors to click on any item in the Insights Bar and be directed to the relevant area of the console to review details or take action. The Insights Bar provides the following types of information.
Registered Participants
- Registered: These are participants and/or instructors who were created as users for this experience in CloudShare. These are users whose identity was known before the experience started and whose identity details (name and email) were entered into CloudShare. These users are counted as registered, regardless of whether they joined the experience directly or through an invitation they received or simply clicked a link.
- Non-Registered: These are participants and/or instructors whose identity (name and email) was not defined in CloudShare and who joined the experience. These types of users can join using a link.
Attendance Overview
The Attendance Overview section provides a breakdown of participant attendance status, allowing instructors to track the number of participants at various stages of participation in the experience.
- Joined: The number of participants who are currently in the experience. This includes both registered and non-registered participants.
- Dropped: Participants who joined previously but then logged out.
Collaboration
The Collaboration section summarizes how participants and instructors are interacting during the experience. It provides key metrics that help instructors track responsiveness and engagement.
- Pending: The number of active Assist Me requests that have not yet been handled.
- Average Response Time: The average time it has taken the instructor to respond to Assist Me requests. This is an indication of how quickly the needs of participants are being addressed.
- Collaborative Participants: The number of participants who engaged in at least one collaborative action (such as Chat or Assist Me). Each participant is counted once, even if they performed multiple collaborative actions.
Region Overview
The Region Overview chart shows the distribution of participants across CloudShare’s data centers. It specifies the number of participants connected through each region. Current CloudShare regions include US East (Miami), Europe (Amsterdam), and Asia (Singapore).
Performance
The Performance section appears when the experience includes a Guided Journey or Multi-step experience. It provides both overall progress and scoring results, allowing instructors to assess how the experience is advancing.
Progress: Shows the average rate of completion across Guided Journeys and Multi-step experiences. Categories include:
- Not Started: Participants who have not yet begun the experience.
- In Progress: Participants actively working through steps in the experience.
- Explored: Participants who opened the content but did not complete the step.
Score: Reflects the average outcome of completed steps. Categories include:
- Passed: Participants who successfully completed the step.
- Failed: Participants who did not successfully complete the step.
- Not Started: Participants who have not attempted the step.
Hovering over each section of each bar provides more details, including the percentage of participants in each category.
Note: If an experience has not yet started, or no participants are connected, the Insights Bar displays No attendance data yet.
