Description
The Instructor Console is a browser-based control center that lets experience instructors see what participants are doing, help them when needed, and keep the experience on track from start to finish.
- Before the experience starts, an instructor can open the Instructor Console, confirm that the experience is ready, and check that the right participants and instructors appear in the user list. The instructor can verify that environments are preparing or ready, or open their own instructor environment. If an instructor is planning to demonstrate workflows, they can make any last-minute adjustments if needed.
- During the experience, an instructor can use live participant thumbnails to monitor each person's activity in real time. From the same screen, the instructor can chat with participants, respond to Assist Me requests, zoom in to a specific environment, take over a participant’s virtual machines for troubleshooting, or share an instructor or participant environment with all the participants.
Quick Start Steps
To access the Instructor Console:
- From the CloudShare home page, click the Training or Sales button in the top left corner. A list of accessible experiences is displayed.
- In the Experience Name column, select the name of the experience to access. For example, Basware Guided Journey – Training Demo.
- Click the Console
button at the top right of the page.
The Instructor Console opens in a new browser tab.

Note: Understand Standbys for Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Experiences: Standbys are Hot-and-Ready experiences. They are created several hours before an ILT experience starts for the registered participants, and remain available for an hour afterwards. When users log in for the first time, they are assigned a standby environment and can start working immediately. If labs are not beginning immediately, delaying the experience start time in CloudShare is a good idea. Remember to create an ILT experience and register participants at least 5 hours before the experience's start time to allow standbys to be created.
