The Environment Details tab of the Environment Details page enables viewing and modifying the configuration and metadata of the selected environment.
- Environment Name: Shows the name of the environment. You can modify this name to make the environment easier to identify in the environment list and related pages.
-
Labels: Shows the labels assigned to the environment. Labels help categorize, search, filter, and manage environments. Alternatively, you can click in this field to display a dropdown menu of previously used environment labels for your selection. To delete a selected label, click the small x next to the label. For example:
.
- Description: Provides a rich-text area where you can add or update information about the environment, such as its purpose, setup notes, usage instructions, or internal comments.
- Automatic Snapshot: A snapshot is an image of the entire environment in its current state and can be used to back up your work. Check this option to have the system automatically take a snapshot of the environment before it is deleted, according to the selected environment policy, if no prior snapshot exists. See Managing Snapshots for more information.
- Cloud Folders: Indicates whether Cloud Folders are enabled for the environment. Cloud Folders provide cloud storage that can be mounted on VMs and used to transfer files such as software, documentation, training materials, code, and configuration files. See Using Cloud Folders for more information.
- Apply Changes to Snapshot: Applies changes made in the environment to the snapshot, so the updated configuration is saved at the snapshot level and can be used by future environments created from that snapshot. See Managing Snapshots for more information.
- Project: Shows the CloudShare project to which the environment belongs. A project is the logical container for related resources, users, roles, policies, blueprints, environments, experiences, and usage tracking. See Managing CloudShare’s Projects for more information.
- Region: Shows the CloudShare data center region where the environment is hosted. The region determines where the environment, blueprints, and snapshots are stored and can affect performance and availability. See Managing Snapshot Regions for more information.
- Owning Team: Shows the project team responsible for the environment. This helps associate the environment with the relevant team within the project and supports role-based access and management. See Project Teams for more information.
- Owning: Shows the project member who owns or is responsible for the environment. See Project Members for more information.
- Blueprint: Shows the blueprint from which the environment was created. A blueprint is the baseline template used to create CloudShare environments. See Creating and Managing Blueprints and Snapshots for more information.
- Based On Snapshot: Shows the snapshot used to create the environment. The snapshot represents the saved environment state on which this environment is based. See Managing Snapshots for more information.
- Policy: Shows the environment policy assigned to the environment. The policy controls lifecycle behavior, including runtime, suspension, deletion, resource allocation, and retention. To change the policy used by this environment, click on the policy’s name. See Working with CloudShare's Policies for more information.
- Create Time: Shows when the environment was created.
- Running Since: Shows when the environment most recently started running. If the environment is suspended, this field may be empty.
- Archive Time: Shows when the environment was archived, if applicable. See Archiving an Environment for more information.
- Deletion Time: Shows when the environment is scheduled to be deleted. CloudShare environments can also be deleted automatically when the policy storage lease expires. See Working With CloudShare's Policies with CloudShare's Policies for more information.
- Remaining Runtime: Shows how much runtime remains before the environment reaches its runtime limit or lifecycle action, according to the assigned policy. Runtime refers to the time when an environment is actively running and consuming resources. See Working With CloudShare's Policies for more information.
