Overview
Platform Navigation is CloudShare's navigation structure, organized around what you're trying to do rather than where a feature happens to live. The navigation is made up of two coordinated layers:
- Left navigation — your primary workflow areas: Experiences, Infrastructure, Analytics, Integrations, and Account Settings.
- Top bar — global utilities that apply no matter where you are: notifications, Solis (Virtual AI Admin), help & support, system status, and your profile.
Note: Navigation is permission-aware: everyone sees the same overall structure, and individual items simply appear or are hidden based on your role, rather than each role getting its own separate menu.How the Navigation Works
The navigation is built from two layers plus a breadcrumb trail that always shows you where you are.
The Main Menu
A slim, fixed strip on the left edge of the screen (always visible) that holds the icons for each top-level area — Experiences, Infrastructure, Analytics, Integrations, and Account Settings.
The Sub-Menu
A wider panel that shows the sub-items for whichever area is currently active (for example, Experiences expands into Training and Sales).
It can behave in two ways:
- Docked (Pinned) — When clicking
the main content area shifts to the right, and the sidebar becomes a permanent part of the page layout. It won’t be unpinned until the user chooses to. so it's always visible while you work.
- Overlay — floats on top of the page without shifting anything, and closes once you've made a selection or click outside of it.
Hovering Over the Main Menu - (Pinned Panel)
When the panel is pinned, what happens on hover depends on whether that area has its own sub-menu:
- Areas with a sub-menu (e.g., Infrastructure) — hovering opens a floating preview over the pinned panel after a brief pause, so quickly passing your mouse over it won't trigger it by accident. Clicking an item in the preview navigates there and updates the pinned panel and breadcrumbs.
- Areas without a sub-menu (e.g., Analytics) — hovering just shows a text label (tooltip). Clicking takes you straight to the page and collapses the panel to give you more screen space.
Top Bar (Global Navigation)
The top bar is available from anywhere in the platform and includes (from left to right):
- Customer Branding Logo — links out to your organization's own website.
- Solis — opens the Virtual AI Admin.
-
System Status — a live health indicator, clicking it opens the full status page. Status indicators:
Green = Operational
Yellow = Degraded
Red = Outage
-
Blue = Service Under Maintenance
- Help & Support
— CloudMate, the Help Center, and the ability to submit a request.
- Notifications
— system and activity alerts.
- User Profile
— access to My Account, Account Details, and Log Out.
Breadcrumbs
A persistent trail at the top of the page shows your current location, for example:
Home > Infrastructure > Environments > Snapshots > Overview
Note: Breadcrumbs only update when you click or navigate — hovering over a menu item to preview it never changes the breadcrumb trail.
